LF Eksperts and Grant Thornton Rimess have merged

(RIGA) – Grant Thornton Rimess and LF Eksperts have merged and will operate under the new name, Grant Thornton Baltic SIA from October 2015. The new firm will become the largest audit, accounting and advisory company in Latvia owned by local partners.

Both Grant Thornton Rimess and LF Eksperts are two of the leading Latvian audit, accounting and advisory companies in the country. The merger also strengthens the position of the Grant Thornton Baltic Group (Grant Thornton Baltic SIA in Latvia, Grant Thornton Baltic OÜ in Estonia and UAB Grant Thornton Baltic in Lithuania) who are locally based in the Baltic region.

This merger combines the strengths of both companies’ competencies establishing a highly professional and experienced team of advisers, who will be able to offer in a single place, a wide range of services from accounting, appraisals, audit, financial advisory services, legal and tax.

New managing partner of Grant Thornton Baltic SIA, Kaspars Rutkis said: "This merger is a logical development step, raising Grant Thornton Baltic to a new, much more serious level. Kaspars, previously the managing partner of LF Eksperts, is a board member of the Latvian Association of Certified Auditors and Latvian Accountancy Outsourcing Association. Together with Kaspars, the Grant Thornton Baltic SIA management team will include partners Ilze Palmbaha, Jelena Žovnikova, Silvija Gulbe and Dainis Tunsts.

Dainis is a board member of the Latvian Association of Property Appraisers and has joined the firm as a new partner. Dainis not only brings a wealth of experience, but also a wide range of clients in areas such as business advisory, audit and accounting.

Ilze is the founding partner of LF Eksperts and has been with the firm for more than 11 years. She has been in accounting practice to local and international companies more than 20 years providing accounting and tax advisory services. In addition Ilze has experience in leading Latvian Accountancy Outsourcing Association uniting professionals of the industry to popularize accounting outsourcing services, to participate in improvement of legislation and to improve the professional skills. 

Jelena has been the managing partner of Grant Thornton Rimess SIA from 2010 until the current merger. Jelena has nearly 15 years of experience in rendering advisory and accounting services to both local and international firms. 

Silvija, a member of the Latvian Association of Certified Auditors since 2004, joined Grant Thornton Rimess SIA in 2008 and has been leading the audit service line since then. Before joining Grant Thornton Rimess she has managed her own audit practice and worked as the CFO in several companies.
