This week, on 28 February in Ventspils, the winners of the Latvian Music Recording Awards “Zelta Mikrofons 2026” will be announced, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the awards.

For three decades, “Zelta Mikrofons” has been the most significant national-level award in Latvia’s music industry, where a professional industry jury evaluates the artistic and technical quality, originality, and innovation of music recordings.

This year, 315 submissions were received for the awards, including 140 albums, 57 songs, 74 music videos, 38 debut albums, and six concert recordings in video format.

The evaluation process took place from 2 December until early January. Grant Thornton was responsible for compiling the jury results across 16 nomination categories (including best albums in various music genres, best song, best debut, and others), ensuring a professional process and full confidentiality.

Grant Thornton also compiled the results for the Radio Hit of the Year award, collecting data from radio stations on songs played throughout the year and determining the most frequently broadcast track. In addition, the firm calculated the Best Producer award based on previously assessed album evaluations. This year, the number of jury members increased by nearly 50%, reaching almost 90 industry experts.

Grant Thornton is truly proud of its contribution to Latvia’s music industry. For many years, as a trusted cooperation partner, the firm has ensured accurate, precise, and reliable vote tabulation, helping to recognise and honour the industry’s finest musicians.
