Description
Latvia maintains a stringent regulatory framework for the employment of third-country nationals, covering everything from work permits to residence documentation. To ensure a smooth, compliant, and risk-free process, the company engaged Grant Thornton Baltic as its local partner.
The project required continuous coordination across multiple countries and institutions — including the client’s teams in Lithuania and Ukraine, as well as Latvian authorities such as the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs (OCMA). Each case had to be handled individually, while maintaining both speed and precision throughout the process.
Our Contribution
Grant Thornton Baltic provided the client with end-to-end support on immigration and employment matters. This included advisory services on the application of Latvian regulations related to the employment of third-country nationals, as well as hands-on assistance with obtaining work and residence permits for highly qualified specialists.
In addition to immigration services, the scope of the engagement expanded to include accounting support, notably the monthly payroll processing function.
Results
As a result of the collaboration, more than 70 work and residence permits were successfully obtained for the client’s employees, enabling the company to efficiently build and scale its team in Latvia.
