Amendments to the Labour Law
31 Mar 2016New amendments to the Labour Law are presented to the Parliament on March this year. Amendments are made in accordance to the provisions of Directive 2014/67/EU on the enforcement of Directive 96/71/EC concerning the posting of workers in the framework of providing services.
Existing provision of Labour Law is extended and gives more detailed explanation on responsibility of employer in cases where employees are posted to work abroad or, responsibility of foreign employer where employees are posted to work in Latvia. The working conditions and the minimum wage valid in the country the employee is posted to should be applied.
The responsibility for the employer of posted employee is also integrated within the amendments.
