Kaspars will be responsible for developing the firm’s transfer pricing advisory practice and leading high-quality projects tailored to clients’ business needs, including the preparation of transfer pricing documentation for local and international companies.
“Regulatory changes in recent years, coupled with increased scrutiny from tax authorities, have made transfer pricing an increasingly important consideration in companies’ day-to-day operations. High-quality transfer pricing documentation is no longer merely a formal requirement—it is an essential tool for identifying and managing tax risks at an early stage. By strengthening our team with Kaspars’ experience and expertise, we will be able to provide our clients with even more comprehensive and solution-oriented support,” says Mārtiņš Lubgans, Head of Tax at Grant Thornton Baltic.
“Transfer pricing matters are becoming increasingly complex, particularly for international groups that must balance the requirements of multiple jurisdictions with their business operating models. My goal is to help clients translate complex regulations into clear and practical solutions. My extensive experience in both tax advisory and the in-house tax function of an international company enables me to approach these matters not only from a regulatory perspective, but also from the standpoint of day-to-day business processes and management decision-making,” says Kaspars Strazds, Senior Transfer Pricing Project Manager and Head of the Transfer Pricing Team at Grant Thornton Baltic.
Kaspars has more than 13 years of professional experience in taxation and transfer pricing. He has worked on tax advisory projects at both a Big Four firm and one of the largest law firms in the Baltics. He has also spent several years managing tax and transfer pricing matters for an international group headquartered in Latvia.
His professional experience also covers the application of international direct taxes and employment taxes across several jurisdictions in Europe, the United States and Latin America, as well as tax matters related to business restructuring in Latvia and across borders.
Kaspars’ in-depth expertise in technical tax matters, combined with his practical understanding of business processes within a large international group, enables him to assess clients’ needs comprehensively and provide solutions that meet both regulatory requirements and the specific needs of their businesses.
